Meet Renée
Renée Gros is a singer and songwriter born, raised, & based in New Orleans, LA. Known for her powerfully soulful voice, Renée's performances have captivated audiences on stages in her hometown and across the country, including the legendary Maple Leaf Bar, Chickie Wah Wah, and House of Blues Chicago. In October of 2023 she backed up Warren Haynes, Joe Bonamassa, Allen Stone, and George Porter Jr. at The Fillmore for the 2023 edition of Tulane University's The Tipping Point, singing in the house band under the direction of Eric Krasno, and is excited to be returning for the 2024 edition. She has opened for alternative blues/rock sensations, Houndmouth, at the Toulouse Theatre, and for hometown favorites Jon Cleary & The Absolute Monster Gentlemen and Galactic, respectively, at the world-famous Tipitina’s. In Spring 2024 she made her New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival debut alongside her husband and musical partner-in-crime, Tiago Guy.
Influenced by the sounds of her hometown, her debut EP Temporary Love combines the energy of vintage Rhythm & Blues with Renée’s quirkily vulnerable storytelling, and features players including Jon Cleary (Bonnie Raitt), Nigel Hall (Lettuce), and Ivan Neville (Dumpstaphunk). The debut single "Shy Guy" can be heard in A24's Netflix Original series, Survival of the Thickest, starring comedian Michelle Buteau. Renée is currently hard at work on new music, coming soon.
